Our seminars are defined by the two EU directives on explosion protection, 2014/34/EU and 1999/92/EC, electrical explosion protection, which are regulated throughout Europe and governed by national law.
Goal of this seminar:
The seminar consists of five imodules, which can be booked individually.
We would recommend that you attend all 5 modules, as modules 1 and 2 give you a basis for understanding modules 3 to 5.

Introduction to Explosion Protection Examples of explosion accidents, causes of explosions, legal guidelines for manufacturers and operators, required qualifications for personnel |
Module 2 Tuesday (90 min) |
Physical Fundamentals Explosion preconditions, formation and ignition of potentially explosive atmospheres, substance characteristics, ignition sources, explosion limits, ignition temperature, explosion groups |
Module 3 Wednesday (120 min) |
Types of Electrical Protection Basic principles and particularities of the types of electrical protection, function principle of type of protection Ex d, type of protection Ex i, type of protection Ex e, and other types of protection, equipment protection level (EPL), technical marking, typical errors in device selection and installation |
Module 4 Thursday (120 min) |
Intrinsic Safety Function principle of intrinsic safety, intrinsically safe and associated apparatus, requirements for cables and lines, marking, particularities during installation, verification of intrinsic safety |
Module 5 Friday (90 min) |
Installation and Maintenance Required qualifications for personnel, particularities in explosion-hazardous areas, cables and lines, protection against sparks (network systems, grounding through equipotential bonding), device selection (categories, temperature classes, etc.), electrical machines, installation, replacement and repair of devices, qualification requirements |
