“Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate” was the guiding theme that brought together the world of industry in Hannover, Germany, this year. A total of 5,800 exhibitors showed the many facets of digital transformation to 210,000 visitors at HANNOVER MESSE and CeMAT, which took place in tandem. Mexico, partner country of this year’s fair, presented itself as colorful and diverse and attracted 1,400 visitors from the Middle American country to Hannover. Industry 4.0 was front and center in almost every booth – with “digital twins,” the Internet of Things, and connected production setting the tone. At the Pepperl+Fuchs booth, fair visitors could see up close and personal what it means to connect plants globally and carry out individual production in batch size 1.
Intelligent multi-sensor systems with 2-D LiDAR sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs can precisely scan object contours and merge the data into a 3-D point cloud. The three-dimensional image of the scanned object is then made available in the NeoNeon cloud in a standardized format within a few seconds, so other systems can process the data immediately. At HANNOVER MESSE, the system was waiting to scan fair visitors. Produced in batch size 1, the digital portrait was then the visitor’s to take home.
What does that mean in practical terms? The application demonstrated how customer requirements can be flexibly and individually implemented in production. Data that is available worldwide also makes it possible to optimize efficiency and capacity in production plants.
This year’s HANNOVER MESSE was a special one for Pepperl+Fuchs: for 50 years, the Mannheim-based company has been presenting its latest innovations for factory and process automation at the world's leading industry fair.
Since first participating in 1968, a lot has changed – not only at the booth, but also at Pepperl+Fuchs itself. What started as a small business is now a global company with 6,000 employees in more than 80 locations around the world. Year after year, Pepperl+Fuchs has shown innovations and advancements from the world of industrial sensors and explosion protection at HANNOVER MESSE. This year, in addition to “Connected Customization,” visitors could discover many more highlights at Pepperl+Fuchs' booth, including the world’s first SIL 3/PL e certified positioning systems and new intelligent safety relays with 1oo3 architecture.
Pepperl+Fuchs is already preparing for its 51st year at HANNOVER MESSE – because after the fair is before the fair. Fair visitors can look forward to new insights and experiences from April 1 to 5, 2019 at the Pepperl+Fuchs booth D76 in hall 9. Sweden will be partner country. Vi ses!
