Distance measurement is a fundamental sensing technology.
A wide variety of processes have been used to address different types of distance sensing applications. Pepperl+Fuchs now - in contrast to our competitors – offers a complete sensor family based entirely on the superior Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT). Customers will no longer have to rely on the phase correlation method or other similar chip-based processes. The advantages of such processes - moderate costs and acceptable levels of accuracy- have now been replaced by PRT.
The modern Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT) delivers better parameters at a lower cost. Long range, accuracy, insensitivity to extraneous light, and attractive pricing combine to make an irresistible package. Concentrating on a single technology means Pepperl+Fuchs is the first supplier to offer the advantage of rapid and lower-cost developments. The Pepperl+Fuchs portfolio includes the following PRT distance measurement sensors such as LiDAR sensors and laser sensors:
The R1000 is equipped with PRT and provides maximum precision for positioning tasks—with an accuracy of < 1 mm over a measuring range of up to 150 m. Due to its compact housing, the distance sensor can be integrated into particularly small machines or lifting applications.
The R200 distance sensor integrates Pulse Ranging Technology in a compact standard housing—for measurements up to 60 m away. This makes the sensor suitable for use in high-bay warehouses, on conveyor systems, or on monorail conveyors in automotive manufacturing.
The small R10x series distance sensors open up a variety of applications that require versatility, reliable detection, and precise measurements. MPT enables distance measurement accurate down to the micrometer, detecting even miniature product features and the slightest position deviations.
