The FieldConnex Multi-Input Output (MIO) allows you to connect digital signals from varied functions to the fieldbus via a single address. As the first compact fieldbus component on the market, MIO provides intrinsically safe inputs and outputs for discrete signals with four different functions. Learn more about these and other powerful features of Multi-Input Output, and how you can benefit.
FieldConnex MIO monitors the status of up to twelve NAMUR sensors or controls up to four valves—including final position feedback and partial stroke test. The Multi-Input Output is equipped with integrated breakaway and runtime monitoring for valves, and emits an alarm signal when limit values are exceeded. The MIO also enables overflow and idle level of containers and conduits monitored by vibration limit switches. For the first time, the fieldbus component collects signals from pulse and frequency generators. The MIO‘s features allow targeted and predictive maintenance and extended maintenance intervals with the highest level of efficiency. This prevents unplanned downtime and increases the economic efficiency of the plant.
All inputs and outputs of FieldConnex MIO are intrinsically safe and offer simple, convenient handling due to their ability to be configured collectively or individually. The component is installed in the immediate vicinity of the sensor to ensure efficient plant design. This reduces the wiring effort as well as the cost and time required for installation. In addition, the improved cable entrance and generous terminal space ensure simple connection.
The interchangeability of Multi-Input Output with existing FieldConnex products, like valve couplers (FD0-VC*) and binary inputs (FD0-BI*), is also guaranteed. To do this, the MIO identifies itself as the configured product at the request of the control system. Module exchange is possible during operation, since the control system configuration remains unchanged.
