In body construction, lifts transport car bodies across several levels. In this production step, R1000 series distance sensors enable extremely fast and exact positioning, even over long distances.

RFID technology makes it possible to identify individual hangers on monorail conveyors. To assist with this, read heads are mounted on the conveyor rail and tags are installed on the hangers.

During the manufacture of battery cells, electrode and separator foils are alternately stacked on top of each other. The need for monitoring in this process is high—for example, the feeding of double sheets must be prevented. In this application, the M18 ultrasonic double sheet sensor detects even thin and reflective foils.

The 2-D vision sensors of the VOS series are used to trace back which battery cell or battery module is installed in which vehicle. With their configurable vision tool set, these sensors are, e.g., capable of reading Data Matrix codes and identifying the battery modules and chassis.

Due to their intelligent software, the sensors of the VOS series can be used universally, solving several applications simultaneously. For example, the same sensor that identifies the battery module is also able to position the industrial robot that grips the module and installs it in the battery pack.
