2. Performance Level / SISTEMA Library
The safety classification "PL" specifies the ability of safety-related parts of a safety device to perform a safety function under predictable conditions.
In order to meet the requirements of EN ISO 13849, mechanical and plant engineers are required to calculate the actual Performance Level (PL) of all safety functions and parts used in the plant. SISTEMA can help with this.
SISTEMA is a software tool that calculates the parameters of all components used in an application or system. To help you comply with safety standards, Pepperl+Fuchs provides SISTEMA libraries for its standard products. Using the libraries makes it easier to compile the safety parameters and thus simplifies the calculation of the performance level.
