Inductive Meets Speed.

Predictive Maintenance in High-Speed Applications of up to 3 m/s.

Inductive Distance Sensors with IO-Link

Pepperl+Fuchs presents inductive distance sensors with IO-Link and integrated condition monitoring functions. For the first time, they not only measure the object position but also velocity and accerleration of damping elements. They monitor critical processes such as braking, acceleration, and opening or closing processes, making them ideal for predictive maintenance. Learn more about this new innovation in the field of inductive sensors.

Application Examples

Wear Monitoring in Pick-and-Place

Wear Monitoring in Pick-and-Place

In pick-and-place applications, such as the manufacturing of syringes in the pharmaceutical sector, shock absorbers serve to decelerate the motion of certain actuators. Due to the high cycle frequency, these components are subject to inevitable wear over time. The inductive distance sensor from Pepperl+Fuchs captures two speed measurements each time the damper is in motion, subsequently calculating the braking effect as negative acceleration. Based on this measurement data, the degree of wear can be easily identified. This helps to initiate targeted maintenance and avoid unplanned plant downtime.

Reset Message and Progress Analysis for Valves

Reset Message and Progress Analysis for Valves

When opening and closing flaps or valves, defined end positions are reached. Two inductive distance sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs not only capture the valve position, but also the speed of the actuator process. This provides information about contamination and wear on the valve. Predictive maintenance can be triggered on the basis of condition-dependent measurement data. This allows for savings in both personnel deployment and costs compared to purely time-dependent cyclical maintenance.

Inductive Multitasking

The inductive distance sensors with IO-Link determine the speed and acceleration of actuating elements for the first time in addition to precise distance measurement.
