The standard photoelectric sensor series R2 and R3 impress with their extremely small housing design. While the ultra-small R2-series with M2 mounting represents the absolute space-saver, the also small R3 Series offers a standard M3 mounting. Due to their miniature housing design, the photoelectric sensors are predestined for applications where high precision in small spaces are required. Read about the benefits both series offer you.
When using an extra-small photoelectric sensor, the mounting and application is typically in space-restricted areas. Here, any kind of mounting flexibility is greatly appreciated. Both standard photoelectric sensor series offer this flexibility with a practical 45° cable exit. In combination with the right mounting bracket, installation in very tight spaces is simplified. Additionally, these mounting brackets can used for all sensing modes.
In applications where close objects must be detected, such as a paper web machine, vibrations may cause abrasion on the sensor's face. Very soon, the sensor is “blind” and needs to be replaced. The photoelectric sensor series R2 and R3 are equipped with an abrasion-resistant, antistatic glass front. The glass front prevents build up and abrasion, and thus improves machine operation by achieving better machine availability.
The ultra-small photoelectric sensor series R2 and R3 are mainly used in tight spaces. The extremely small, focused light spot, the scratch resistant glass front window, and the different sensing modes enable new application solutions.
Typical applications are:
