Tablets are available with powerful Android or Windows operating systems and enable mobile data exchange in the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other industries. The rugged tablet solutions are designed for harsh environments, Zone 1/21, Div. 1 and Zone 2/22, Div. 2 hazardous as well as non-hazardous areas. They support mobile workers with their daily tasks such as check-ups, inspections, maintenance measures, inventories, and material tracking.To meet the high demands of these applications and to ensure safe operation, the devices are subjected to several tests ensuring safe operation.

The rugged, highly secure tablet is based on Samsung’s state-of-the-art Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro and comes in a slim and lightweight design. The tablet’s 10-inch screen is ideal for demanding IIoT applications. The Samsung DeX function turns the compact tablet into a full desktop computer.

Pad-Ex® 01 P12—Windows Tablet with an 11.6-Inch Display
As a mobile tablet with full Windows support, the rugged Pad-Ex® 01 is ideal for use in harsh environments. If desired, the 11.6-inch tablet can be used as a supplement to or even a replacement for a desktop PC, laptop, or wall-mounted screens.

The slim Windows-based devices in the Tab-IND series are available with an 8-inch and 10-inch display and offer numerous customization options as well as an extensive range of accessories. The rugged tablet series in accordance with MIL-STD-810H is made for use in the industry.

Tested to Ensure Safe Operation
- Thermal Resistance Test: Over a period of four weeks, the devices are exposed to extreme heat and humidity and a day of extreme cold in an environmental test chamber.
- Impact Tests: Test weights are dropped onto the devices several times from predefined heights to ensure the durability of the housings and (touch screen) displays.
- Drop Tests: Devices are dropped from a height of 1 m onto a concrete floor to test ruggedness.
- Overpressure and Flame Propagation Test: The units are then subjected to hydrostatic pressure tests to verify the strength and integrity of the housing. An internal explosion with test gases is then triggered to ensure that the flames do not spread from the inside to the outside.
- Protection Against Foreign Matter Ingress: Following the tests described above, the devices are tested in accordance with IP standards 64-68 for resistance to the penetration of water and dust.
