LB Remote I/O System

The LB remote I/O system for installation in Zone 2, Class I/Div. 2 is a modular system for signal adaptation between field devices in hazardous areas and control systems in safe areas. With the remote I/O system, the field device signals are transmitted to a process control system via a single fieldbus cable with a standardized bus protocol (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus and others).

With the PROFINET gateway, the remote I/O system can be connected to IIoT applications via Ethernet networks. Most analogue field devices support HART so that HART can be used for parameterization and diagnostics in the control system. For this purpose, the remote I/O system with HART-IP has a function for forwarding the HART data from the field devices to the control system.

Universal Input/Output

The module combines the two functions of analog input and analog output. The four channels can be configured independently of each other and used as AI or AO.

The device function is available in device variants for field signals with Ex ia type of protection or Ex e connection technology and supports HART in order to integrate the connected field devices into IIoT applications via the PROFINET gateway.

Analog Input

For connecting 2-wire and 3-wire transmitters and active signals from externally supplied field devices (also known as 4-wire transmitters), there are 1- and 4-channel analog modules available. Many of these analog inputs support HART and can therefore integrate the connected field devices into IIoT applications via the PROFINET gateway.

Field Units

Field units ensure that all electronic components are protected from harsh environmental influences. They are available in enclosure variants made of lightweight glass fiber reinforced polyester or electropolished 316-L stainless steel.

Both enclosure types have IP protection class 66. An integrated drainage channel prevents the one-piece seal from being damaged by standing water.
