Color tapes for route tracking with the PGV are available from Pepperl+Fuchs in various colors and lengths. This allows you to select the right color for your conditions and requirements. With a suitable combination of background and color of the color tapes, no contrast tapes are necessary due to the insensitivity of the read heads to environmental influences. Mounting the self-adhesive color tapes is quick and simple.

In addition to tracking on a color tape, the Data Matrix code tapes enable the exact positioning of automated guided vehicles. The PGV and safePGV read heads continuously report back the detected position as well as the speed and the angle of rotation of the AGV, so that safe transport of goods is guaranteed at all times.

Data Matrix control codes can be used to initiate specific control processes in the route of the AGV. To do this, you affix the control code tapes in addition to the color tape, the Data Matrix code tape or the code bars.

For safety applications with the safePGV positioning system, you can obtain special multicolor Data Matrix code tapes from Pepperl+Fuchs. The Data Matrix codes here are already redundant in themselves. In combination with the two-color lighting and the enlarged reading window of the safePGV read head, this creates a unique safety solution for safe absolute positioning of AGVs.

In addition to Data Matrix code tapes, Pepperl+Fuchs also offers Data Matrix code bars for use in demanding environments. They are made of anodized aluminum and are therefore particularly robust. Depending on the application, users can glue the metal code bars directly to the floor or into special carrier profile rails. The latter are also available from Pepperl+Fuchs.

Data Matrix tags enable the positioning of automated guided vehicles and the identification of loads and load carriers. For positioning, the tags are glued to the floor in a fixed grid. The PGV read heads report back the tag number as well as the relative position and angle of rotation to the tag center as the load passes. To identify the load, the tags are attached on the side or bottom of the load or load carrier. The PGV read head reads the tag number for identification and also provides fine positioning of the AGV relative to the load. The tags are available in either plastic or metal, allowing you to choose the most suitable material depending on your requirements and environmental conditions.
