Process Interfaces

FieldConnex process interfaces connect multiple analog and discrete inputs and outputs to the fieldbus with minimum cabling. Intrinsic safety included: sensors and actuators can be mounted in Zone 0/ Div. 1, the process interface in Zone 1/ Div. 1. Typical examples:
- Namur sensors
- Open / close valves
- Resistive temperature measurements (RTD)
- Thermocouples
The I/O is powered by the fieldbus, saving on cabling. All process interfaces are available with a choice of protocol: Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus H1. They allow flexibility through standard function blocks and selections from many types and manufacturers of sensors . In connection with Ethernet-APL rail field switches, simple signals can be connected in bulk to the DCS enabling economic, large-scale applications.
