The new inductive sensors for high-temperature applications from Pepperl+Fuchs are characterized by two important innovations: They offer a particularly large operating distances of up to 50 mm, and an IO-Link interface is integrated into the amplifier. This enables seamless communication between the field level and the controller, making it very easy to integrate the devices into Industry 4.0 applications. In addition, variable cable lengths allow for simplified installation.
The new F135 series inductive high-temperature sensors are designed for use in extreme temperatures of up to 250 °C and are suitable for particularly harsh environmental conditions. Their strengths include minimal temperature drift of the operating distance. The devices achieve an exceptionally long service life with high detection reliability. If the sensor head needs to be replaced, no reparameterization of the amplifier is required. It is also not necessary to set the operating distance via a potentiometer.
The IO-Link interface offers the option of integrating the high-temperature sensor into a comprehensive and seamless data exchange in the context of Industry 4.0. It not only allows continuous communication between the control and field level, but also a simple device parameterization and the transmission of important additional information.
The inductive high-temperature sensors with IO-Link provide users with status data of the sensor head as well as maintenance information. The integrated switching cycle and operating hours counter provides additional basic information for predictive, condition-based maintenance planning. Synchronization of multiple devices is possible in both SIO and IO-Link mode.
The sensors are available with a fixed cable that can be connected to an M18 amplifier or with a separable connection. The cable length can be selected between 1 and 30 meters (in 5-meter increments), allowing for flexible adaption to the application. This makes installation much easier for users. In addition, each component of the sensor set can be replaced individually. By installation the sensor head flush on metal, the risk of damage is minimized.
