Multipixel Technology (MPT)
Easy and Extremely Precise for Near Range Applications
Distance-based photoelectric sensors ensure perfect object detection and provide you with a crucial competitive advantage in the market!
What Is MPT?
The Multipixel Technology (MPT) combines the proven triangulation principle with the measuring functionality of conventional distance sensors. As such, the MPT sensors bring state-of-the-art technology within reach of a wide group of users.
The high-performance sensors effortlessly master complex object detection tasks in the near range. Even where ambient conditions vary greatly, the intelligent sensors deliver extremely reliable results with a high level of immunity—the ideal solution for precise object detection over short distances.

Function Principle of MPT
The optical distance measurement is based on the triangulation principle. With this geometric method, the distance to the object is measured by accurately measuring angles within triangles.
The PowerBeam emits a light beam to the object; the object reflects this light beam back. The reflected laser beam is then recaptured by a light-sensitive receiver in the sensor, the multi-pixel array.
Depending on the distance between the sensor and the object, the reflected light hits different positions on the multi-pixel array: If the object is close, there is a large change in angle. If it is further away, there is a smaller change in angle.
By observing the angular relationship and finding the position of the light spot on the receiver, the precise distance of the scanned object to the sensor is determined. This calculation is made with the help of a built-in microprocessor and corresponding software algorithms.
Benefits of MPT SensorsMPT Offers Outstanding Levels of Flexibility and Detection Reliability
