The newest addition to our optical data coupler offering is the LS680. Optical data transmission is an innovative means of transferring data via modulated infrared light. In essence, it’s a “virtual cable.” Unlike Wi-Fi or RF-based communications, the LS680 optical data coupler is immune to noise interference and has a consistent data transfer rate of 100 Mbit/s over all distances. And unlike wired communication methods such as drag cables or slip rings, it offers unparalleled flexibility and resilience.

LS680 transfers Industrial Ethernet, such as PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP at speeds 33 to 50 times faster than competitive models. Because it is the only high-speed Ethernet optical data coupler on the market, it is uniquely capable of resolving certain application requirements:

• Only device in its class that is fast enough to transmit live video, such as from a camera on high-bay stacker crane for manual positioning and diagnostics
