Advanced Technologies for Valve Position Feedback
Monitoring the status of valves is an essential task in any process plant. That is why Pepperl+Fuchs offers a broad portfolio of products tailored to valve position feedback, regardless of location or valve type. The sensors are available for indoor and outdoor use as well as for applications in harsh industrial environments. They are suitable for valve position feedback on standard pneumatic and manually operated valves, as well as on linear valves in applications with stringent hygiene requirements. In-depth engineering knowledge and many years of experience in explosion protection ensure absolutely reliable solutions.
There are various options for monitoring the position of valves: Choose between dual sensors, which combine two overlapping inductive sensor elements, and other solutions such as inductive sensors or inductive positioning systems.

Valve Position Feedback with Dual Sensors
Dual sensors combine two overlapping inductive sensor elements that detect the position of the actuator and therefore the position of the valve. The sensors, which are available with a highly visible position indicator, are typically used on standard pneumatic valves where they are mounted directly on the actuator. Pepperl+Fuchs offers variants designed for outdoor applications or hazardous areas.
Extremely Robust Solution for Outdoor Applications
With its high resistance to UV, temperature, and corrosion, the F31K2 series delivers outstanding performance even in the most extreme environmental conditions. Pepperl+Fuchs offers versions with approvals up to Zone 2/22 or Zone 0/20 for use in hazardous areas (Ex i or Ex ec/tc). A version for SIL 2 applications is also available.
Mounting Accessories for Manual Valves
To complement its portfolio of dual inductive sensors, Pepperl+Fuchs offers the right accessories for mounting the sensors on manual valves. The clamping solution, which can be adapted for a variety of sensors and activators, is equally suitable for valves without tapped holes

Reliable Positioning on Linear Valves
The PMI-F90 noncontact inductive positioning systems are the ideal solution for precise detection of the valve position on pneumatically operated diaphragm valves or linear control valves. Simple steel targets or even valve parts serve as activators and make this series a particularly flexible and cost-effective solution.
Position Feedback on Linear Valves
Pepperl+Fuchs offers an extensive portfolio of inductive sensors in various housing designs for optimal integration into diaphragm and knife gate valves. Versions with several types of protection (Ex ia, Ex ec, Ex tc, Ex ic) are available for use in Zones 0/20, 1/21, and 2/22.
Precise Position Detection on Valve Position Indicators
Inductive cylindrical or slot sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs are used, for example, on valve position indicators. These indicators provide reliable information about the valve position through integrated sensors in combination with a sophisticated meter.

This video showcases one example of a customized solution from Pepperl+Fuchs: a customer was looking for a sensor that they could use for position detection across their entire portfolio of control valves—and therefore in very different mounting conditions. Pepperl+Fuchs developed a dual sensor with an individual housing that fits into each of the customer's control valves. This modular solution significantly reduces the installation effort and therefore lowers costs.
