Rounding out its constantly evolving tablet portfolio, Pepperl+Fuchs continues its partnership with Samsung with the launch of the Tab-Ex® 04 Pro DZ2/22. The world's first 5G Android tablet with a 10-inch screen is the next generation mobility device for use in Zone 2/22 and Div. 2 hazardous areas.
The rugged device builds on the success of the previous generation device with some impressive updates.
At the heart of the new Tab-Ex 04 Pro is the powerful Qualcomm SM7325-2-AB Octa-Core 4x 2.4 GHz + 4x 1.8 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM or 6 GB RAM depending on the model. This provides the necessary computing power to fully benefit from the higher data transmission speed. In addition to the 128 GB internal memory, the storage capacity can be expanded from 512 GB to 1 TB using an external microSD card. The device has been enhanced with 5G and Wi-Fi® 6E connectivity, providing the latest in data speeds and functionality. The US market version also offers connectivity for LTE Band 48 to support private LTE networks.
A powerful, replaceable 7600 mAh battery with pogo pin for voltage supply, data transport, and runtimes of up to 15 hours enables reliable use of the Tab-Ex® 04 Pro DZ2/D2 in the field. The Tab-Ex 04 Pro DZ2/D2 complies with the MIL STD-810H standard and offers IP68 degree of protection. Besides, the Samsung Knox security platform and the latest Android operating system ensure maximum data and device security.
The new 10-inch Android tablet comes in a slim and lightweight design and features increased brightness with a 550-nit screen. Like the previous tablet, the 10-inch multitouch screen offers the largest screen in its class and can additionally be operated with gloves and the Samsung S Pen.
Another impressive feature of the Tab-Ex 04 Pro DZ2/D2 is the available DeX Mode (Desktop Experience). In this mode, the device adapts for use with larger monitors. Add a mouse and a keyboard for a desktop- or laptop-like experience. This allows mobile workers to use a single device both on the go and in the office. The GoogleAR Core allows the integration of augmented reality applications, which can be used for remote maintenance of systems, for example. Individually programmable buttons improve lone worker protection and provide additional safety in the field.
