This innovative voltage repeater enables the reliable transmission of high-frequency signals up to 20 kHz to control, safety, and monitoring systems—directly from the hazardous area.

Flexible, Powerful, and Easy to Configure

The KCD2-VR4-Ex1 is the only module on the market that allows simplified sensor power supply configuration via front-accessible DIP switches. Whether 2-wire or 3-wire sensors, or AC sensors without external power supply, this versatile module supports all common vibration, acceleration, and displacement sensors, as well as magnetic pickups and seismic sensors. The smart isolated barrier ensures seamless signal transmission without the need for complex workarounds such as Zener barriers or special grounding concepts.

Maximum Compatibility for Easy Integration

The KCD2-VR4-Ex1 is compatible with all commercially available sensors, supporting a standardized system architecture that significantly simplifies planning, documentation, and inventory management. Thanks to its compact design—measuring just 12.5 mm wide—and low power dissipation, it can be used even under extreme environmental conditions from -40 to 70 °C without restrictions.

Designed to meet the highest safety standards, the KCD2-VR4-Ex1 complies with IEC/EN 61508 Ed 2 for applications up to SIL 2 (SC3)—with the option for redundant use in SIL 3 circuits. The front-accessible DIP switches enable intuitive configuration, eliminating the need to operate hidden or hard-to-reach switches.
