New G11 and G16 IO-Link Hubs: For the Flexible Connection of Binary Sensors in IO-Link Systems

G11 and G16 IO-Link hubs

With the use of IO-Link hubs, technological limitations are a thing of the past: they allow mixed operation of IO-Link devices and binary standard sensors/actuators on an IO-Link master. The new G11 and G16 series IO-Link hubs from Pepperl+Fuchs represent a particularly robust and cost-efficient solution and offer users the greatest possible flexibility in system planning.

Efficient Signal Transmission with up to 128 I/Os per IO-Link Master

The G11 and G16 series allow users to connect several standard sensors to an IO-Link hub and connect them to the IO-Link master via the IO-Link interface. Up to 16 devices can be connected to a hub at the same time, allowing up to 128 standard sensors to be connected per IO-Link master. This enables efficient integration of many I/Os via IO-Link and at the same time reduces the wiring effort and possible wiring errors. Another benefit of using I/O hubs is that they only require one unshielded cable for signal transmission and power supply.

Allrounder Series with the Best Price-Performance Ratio

The new IO-Link hubs are particularly cost-efficient and can be used in a wide range of applications due to the large temperature range of -40 °C ... +70 °C. In addition, both devices have IP68/69K type of protection and are resistant to moisture and dirt. Both IO-Link hubs are Class A devices and are available as 16DI and 16DIO versions. The G11 series is equipped with an M12 connector and the G16 series has a smaller M8 connection for confined installation conditions—this means that both IO-Link hubs can be used in numerous standard applications.

G11 IO-link hub application

Two standard sensors/actuators can be connected per switch, so that with 16 devices per IO-Link hub, a total of 128 I/Os can be transferred per IO-Link master.

Extensive Product Portfolio

IO-Link hubs from Pepperl+Fuchs are available in various sizes and materials to meet every application requirement. In addition to the new variants of the G11 and G16 series, for example, the portfolio also includes IO-Link hubs in the particularly compact CB10 housing design. These can be integrated even in the smallest of spaces, such as in push button boxes or signal lights. With the G20 series, tailor-made modules are available for use in roller conveyor systems. The portfolio also includes devices in the G60A design with a robust, encapsulated metal housing and extended temperature range for applications in demanding industrial environments.
