As its name says, the modular VisuNet FLX HMI platform from Pepperl+Fuchs stands for maximum flexibility. Whether remote or direct monitor, industrial or box PC: The series offers various HMI systems and solutions for a wide range of applications and installation requirements in ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 and non-Ex areas. The modular "one-fits-all" design allows for the precise configuration of your HMI solution and enables easy and quick adaptation in the field.
Depending on your industry and application, you can choose between stainless-steel and aluminum housings and add a range of optional peripherals and accessories. Different display sizes also allow a high degree of flexibility for panel mounting. Stainless-Steel Enclosure for Life Science Applications
The VisuNet FLX series was specially developed for applications in the (petro-) chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The operator stations support employees in the manual steps of such processes. Thanks to the certification for zone 2/22, the platform offers a solution for areas where potentially explosive substances are transferred and filled. The housings made of stainless-steel with special surfaces easily meet GMP regulations. They are particularly easy to clean and resistant to aggressive and corrosive substances. An optional RFID reader can be integrated directly into the housing.
Aluminum Enclosure for Extended Temperature Range
For indoor and outdoor applications that require extended temperature ranges of -20 … +50 °C, the marine-grade aluminum enclosure of the VisuNet FLX series is ideal. The robust housing not only stands for optimal heat dissipation, but also for high resistance. Additional sun shields can be attached to the sides, top edge and rear as required. They also serve as protection against rain and other environmental conditions. With these enhancements, the VisuNet FLX series defies harsh environmental conditions and can also be used outdoors.

At market launch, we already have a wide range of preconfigured VisuNet FLX solutions available for you as "Preferred Products", covering a large part of common industrial applications. However, if you have any further individual customization requirements, you can rely entirely on our Solution Engineering Centers (SEC). Here we create and manufacture HMI solutions all over the world.
For example, a large selection of already qualified pushbuttons is available for individual solution design. Solutions for dual monitor or mobile applications are also already included in the design of the VisuNet FLX series and can be manufactured individually if required.

Firmware
Pepperl+Fuchs not only offers a variety of thin clients, but also the appropriate thin client software. The specially developed VisuNet RM Shell and VisuNet Control Center firmware are precisely tailored to the requirements of process automation. In addition to the VisuNet firmware, Pepperl+Fuchs offers thin clients with pre-installed IGEL OS or as a "ThinManager Ready" solution.
Easy Configurationwith VisuNet RM Shell
VisuNet RM Shell firmware is pre-installed and pre-configured for various control systems, allowing for quick and easy setup of BTCs and remote monitors. The latest generation is based on Microsoft® Windows® 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, offering long-term security updates. It also features integrated security mechanisms that provide reliable protection against malware and viruses.
VisuNet RM Shell enables a complete thin client solution for process industries—from BTCs in the control room to remote monitors in Zone 1/21 and Division 1.
Option for Linux UsersPre-installed IGEL OS
For users who want to use VisuNet devices with IGEL OS, Pepperl+Fuchs offers box thin clients (BTCs) and remote monitors of the VisuNet FLX and VisuNet GXP series with pre-installed IGEL OS*. IGEL OS is a platform-independent, Linux-based endpoint operating system designed for simple, intelligent, and secure access to virtual applications, desktops, and cloud workspaces.
*Licenses need to be purchased directly from IGEL.
Option for Rockwell ThinManager® UsersThinManager Ready Clients
For users implementing or already working with a Rockwell ThinManager architecture, Pepperl+Fuchs offers “ThinManager Ready” clients*. They have been specially developed, configured, and tested with Rockwell. These solutions have a BIOS that is pre-installed and ready to connect to the ThinManager server. Just like the VisuNet RM Shell and IGEL OS solutions, the ThinManager Ready options are available for the entire VisuNet HMI portfolio.
