Viator® HART Modems now Integrated into Pepperl+Fuchs HART Interface Solutions

Viator® HART Modems have officially become a Pepperl+Fuchs branded product. We purchased MACTek, Inc., a leading provider of HART protocol devices, back in August of 2015. The BULLET, also a MACTek product, was previously integrated into the WirelessHART product portfolio.

Viator HART modems, formerly marketed under Pepperl+Fuchs MACTek Inc, are now being sold, shipped, and supported internationally with the help of Pepperl+Fuchs’ extensive distribution network. Bluetooth, RS-232, USB, and USB with PowerXpress™ Viator models are available, including a Bluetooth version that is designed specifically for use in hazardous locations.

A natural fit into Pepperl+Fuchs’ HART product lineup, Jim Bolin had this to say about the Viator integration, “We are so pleased to officially add Viator HART modems to our existing HART portfolio," said Mr. Bolin, Pepperl+Fuchs' executive vice president of the Americas. HART Interface Solutions enable the transfer of additional process values and device status information from the field to the control room via the standard 4…20 mA loop. By applying this cost-effective technology, users gain more insight into their plant processes without the need to integrate additional transmitters and wiring. Viator provides HART Communication Foundation registered interfaces for affordable, reliable, and secure wireless communication between a PC host system and any HART field device.
