As a full-service provider for electrical explosion protection, Pepperl+Fuchs offers fully certified Ethernet-APL enclosure solutions according to the Plug&Go principle. Suitable for mounting in Zone 2/22 hazardous areas, these Ethernet-APL solutions are based on the enclosures from the GR (glass-fiber reinforced polyester, GFRP) and SR (stainless steel, SS) series. Both types of enclosure are derived from in-house development at Pepperl+Fuchs and are precisely tailored to the requirements of the process industry. This means that a wide range of application requirements can be met directly with preconfigured Ethernet-APL enclosure solutions without the need for any significant customization. Customers benefit from simplified planning, quotation, and production processes.

The main component of the enclosure solutions—the Ethernet-APL rail field switch—is available in both the Ex ic and Ex ia version. In order to efficiently connect the required number of field devices, variants with 8, 16, or 24 spur ports are available. In addition, multiple Ethernet-APL rail field switches, combinations with remote I/O systems, multi-input/output devices, or other field devices can also be installed in an Ethernet-APL enclosure solution. The experienced engineers in the worldwide Solution Engineering Centers (SEC) at Pepperl+Fuchs accompany the entire project phase—from solution design and detailed engineering through to the approval process. In addition to ATEX and IECEx, the range of approvals also includes other regional or industry-specific certificates if required.
