The vibration sensors by Pepperl+Fuchs feature a particularly large measuring range capable of measuring vibrations of up to 128 mm/second. Equipped with a rugged compact housing and encapsulated electronics, they offer maintenance-free operation and a long service life. The sensors come with analog or with IO-Link interfaces—and with global approvals for hazardous areas up to Zone 1/21 and Div. 2 as well as functional safety certification up to SIL 2/PL d.
The vibration sensors are available in three designs with different functional ranges:
As the smallest vibration sensor series, the VIM3 series is suitable for basic and less complex monitoring applications. The analog version is optionally approved for SIL 1 applications and has a switching output which allows the direct indication of a critical vibration limit. In addition, a variant with IO-Link interface is available.
The VIM6 series is specifically designed for use in high-temperature applications. Here, the sensors measure vibration—optionally with temperature—and send the values via an integrated analog output. The vibration sensors of this series are available with both connector and cable and are approved for use in hazardous areas up to Zone 1/21.
With encapsulated electronics and a particularly rugged housing made of duplex steel, the sensors of the VIM8 series are designed for use in harsh environments and Zone 1/21 hazardous areas as well as offshore applications. With SIL 2 approval and an operating temperature range from -35 ... +125°C these sensors are equipped with various sophisticated functionalities: These include integrated vibration evaluation in combination with parameterizable switching outputs. This eliminates the need to evaluate the signal values in a PLC.
