Rugged HMI Solution Supports Automated Loading

At truck loading stations, individual dispatches must be processed as quickly as possible. Software solutions support workflows at the terminals and enable fully automated, delivery-specific loading. Implementing a paperless process ensures that no information is lost and that the data is available in real time and can be managed centrally. To benefit from these advantages, the operating location must be equipped with rugged human-machine interfaces (HMI) that are adapted to the specific conditions of the loading stations. Environments of this kind can be subject to very high and very low temperatures and strong sunlight. In addition, loading stations are often located near hazardous areas.

The HMI must be able to withstand the mechanical loads of rough operation, especially the surface of the display. The display must also be readable in strong sunlight. The device must withstand a wide temperature range so that it functions properly even in extreme cold or heat. Certified explosion protection is also necessary for many locations.

The VisuNet IND HMI is designed for industrial use in harsh environments. It is suitable for a temperature range of -20 °C to +50 °C, meaning that outdoor use is possible. The bright display ensures optimal readability even in direct light. Its surface is made of tempered glass and can withstand strong mechanical impact. The VisuNet IND is resistant to impact and mechanical vibrations. Depending on requirements, RM, PC, KM, or DM communication technology can be selected.

The VisuNet IND is extremely rugged and reliable even in difficult ambient conditions. Setup and operation are simple: the integrated VisuNet RM Shell 5 software facilitates installation of a thin client setup as well as operation and remote maintenance of the system. Only the necessary system functions are operated. The additional VisuNet Control Center software enables configuration and servicing of numerous HMIs by the central IT department. The choice between a stand-mounted design or VESA mounting system ensures that users can position the HMI as required.
