Temperature Input

Temperature measurement is one of the most safety-critical applications in process automation—especially in explosion-hazardous areas. For this challenging task, Pepperl+Fuchs’ LB system remote I/O solution includes temperature inputs in type of protection Ex i.

These signal converters are rated for use in Zone 2, Class I/Div. 2 explosion-hazardous areas and allow connection of different resistance thermometers (2-, 3- and 4-wire Pt100 ... Pt1000), thermocouples, and mV signals.

LB system remote I/O temperature inputs are available in the following versions:

• 1-channel versions address the needs of users who appreciate system granularity and easy commissioning.
• 4-channel versions ensure the highest possible utilization of backplanes used for module connection and enable compact remote I/O solutions with large channel numbers.

The modules support lead breakage detection and short circuit detection. Galvanic isolation separates the inputs from bus and power. In addition, our temperature inputs are hot-swappable, which allows quick and easy module replacement without time-consuming system shutdowns.
